nothing liquid

The melting point of glass is 2,252 degrees Fahrenheit.

The technology used in the manipulation of glass hasn't changed for centuries. A blazing inferno roars in the furnace, while medieval tools, uncannily similar to 19 th century surgical instruments, are used to manipulate the molten glass into everything from shot glasses to full-scale models of the human anatomy.

One crisp autumn evening, the Shatter Glass Group, founded by Lance Friedman 13 years ago, took 606 into its industrious arms. We were able to follow the intense process of manipulating this medium while shadowing Lola Rodriquez, a glass blower with five years' experience. And we did it without getting a single burn.
