"[It was] my first dance, and I call it my 'first' because all dance before then never felt as exhilarating as the jitterbug and swing was with a dear friend.
I learned the first basic steps, and then I jumped right into a dance like I had been doing it my whole life. The beautiful thing about this sort of dance is the raw, vibrant, unhinged conversation that is exchanged between two people, which really is just an expression of the music in physical form."

subject: sad date: 07.17.2004 name: lori comment: I feel sadness but I think it is because I associate a lot of the "Vintageness" of these photos with the lifestyles of my grandparents, the so called "greatest generation." Listening to my grandparents reminisce about that period in history saddens me because I see them longing for their youth. It also saddens me because it seems like that was such a wonderful time to be alive in the U.S. But, as with any trip down memory lane, I’m sure it only seems that wonderful because my grandparents are only recalling the good times. Interesting comment though.
