A pleasant minimalist dance track to get through the rest of the workday. It's Friday and we're a few hours to the finish line of the week's worst day –why not actually attempt to work? All the little clips and gurgles that give this song it texture? That's the sound of fat being sucked out of the thighs of the rich. Matmos decided to dedicate this album of the surgery sounds to their fathers, both doctors. Using a wealth of sounds sampled from the cosmetic surgery practices with the tools themselves, the duo creates a disturbingly accessible dance record. The sound of rhinoplasty aside, the song furthers Matmos's point that underneath the most banal job there is music hidden, waiting for the surface to be scratched away and for someone to want to find it. It's the kind of inspiration that gets us to do 35 minutes of actual labor. And then we collect our check.
