choose your own adventure | thursday night out | Jason Heidemann choose your own adventure | thursday night out | Jason Heidemann

You start meandering through the crowd of people, some beautiful, some not, all socializing, laughing and checking one another out. Almost immediately you spot Natasha and a few friends hovering over a tray of hors d'oeuvres.

“Hey!” she says, giving your hand a gentle squeeze. “I'm glad you could make it. I want you to meet some people.” You do a round of handshakes and introduce yourself to the group of friends one of whom is the female co-worker Natasha has been raving about named Ali.

After exchanging the obligatory introductions and pleasantries you find yourself in conversation with Natasha's friend Ali. Actually, she's kind of attractive. She's in marketing and has a one-bedroom condo in Bucktown. She was raised in Winnetka and went to New Trier High School where her mother worked in administration and got to meet Ally Sheedy when they filmed The Breakfast Club there. This leads into a conversation about the brunch spot The Breakfast Club and other favorite brunch places. She likes Ina's in the West Loop and The Sweet Maple Café in Little Italy. You mention the Bongo Room in Wicker Park and M. Henry in Edgewater.

Talk of food makes you both hungry and she suggests going for a bite somewhere.

Natasha then mentions that they're thinking of going over to Sound-Bar for I Love the 80s night.

You could break away from the group and get her alone now by venturing out on your own. If this is your decision turn to page 12.

However, you do miss the 80s and this could be your chance to get hot and sweaty with her on the dance floor. Head to Sound-Bar by choosing page 8.

but it was in nyc. here are the highlights:

• My friend got up from the park bench 5 seconds *before* the pigeon put shit where she was sitting.

• We decided *not* to go to the Mouse Bloc rally, where if we had gone we would have 1. been late and 2. gotten arrested.

• we decided *to join* the spontaneous march leaving the park. Spent the next 24 in the slammer.
